+ | |||
+ | Lake makes contact with [[Andrew Priest]] about getting ready to leave. Lake plans to hijack the plane as they leave.
+ | |||
+ | As beta team move towards the resort they cross through an area of environmental disaster where a forest has been destroyed. They are intercepted by a toxic free spirit which kills [[Anowat]]. Webb shoot ineffectively at the spirit and Wraith lasers into temporary disruption.
+ | |||
+ | Beta team arrive - Webb checks to see if the fence is electrified - and gets away with a mild non-damagind shock. Wraith levitates the team members over the fence one at a time. They gather behind one of the hangars, and Pathfinder masks himself and Webb to look like ground crew. JC is circling above.
+ | |||
+ | Meanwhile the bus carrying Lake, Jesse, Mole and the Targets leaves the terminal and starts moving towards where the plane is parked. Ground crew walk around it making final checks and de-icing the runway. Disguised as engineers, Webb and Finder start walking towards the plane. Webb sees a baggage train moving towards the open loading ramp onder the read of the fuselage, and heads towards it. Finder is walking to the foot of the stairway, just as the bus stops beside it, and the execs begin to embark--
+ | |||
+ | When the transport doors open, the first to step outside are two suits who stop, look around, and take up position next to the four gun-monkeys guarding the plane. Lake steps out, together with priest and his wife, and begin to climb the steps towards the cabin door.
+ | |||
+ | Webb tap-tap-tap's his earpiece. Katsu draws her gigantic Dikatana, and invisible, begins to advance on the security agents.
+ | |||
+ | Carrying his AR in a hold-all down by his side, Webb looks up and nods at JC circling high above, then turns to enter the loading ramp. Finder moves to the foot of the stairs. At that moment JC realises that one of the corporate agents is a mage who is astrally percieving.
+ | |||
+ | JC manabolts the mage. The mage takes it and shouts: EVERYBODY DOWN! retaliating. Then all drekk breaks loose. The spell misses cos JC is divebombing through the air. All six security personel draw assult rifles and [[SMGs]], and flip on their ultrasound. Immediately the see Kats standing there, sword drawn, and open fire with everything. Kats get hit by three bullets, and is blown off her feet. She is saved by her armour and gets up, and begins to run. Disguised as a member of ground crew, Webb crouches down into cover making like a civilian. Around the corner, Wraith brings online 8 elementals.
+ | |||
+ | JC meanwhile, is coming in from the sky like a Stuka dive bomber, firing off spells as he goes. Jesse and the Mole are halfway up the stairs to the aircraft, and take cover behind the rail. Lake ushers the rest of the passangers into the aircraft. He sits down next to the Scientist, and opens an inflight magazine.
+ | |||
+ | JCs spell hits the mage killing him. Katsu is running through the snow towards the cover of the tilt-wing, tracked by SMG fire from the guards. Webbs assult rifle is in the sports bag next to him. He reaches inside his jacket and takes the safety off the Sig. Path Finder points to one of the ground crew next to him and shouts: HES GOT A GUN! Another one of JCs spells hits home, taking down two gun-mokeys. A third one takes aim at Kats. Webb takes advantage of the momentary distraction and pulls the handgun from its holster. Immediately, one of the guards tracks towards him and fires an aimed burst at his head. Webb rolls, comes up, and puts one burst through his chest, and one through the goon firing at Kats. The agent hasnt time to realize hes dead, when Mole slams into him rugby-tackling him to the ground. The last one tracks Katsu- though not for long as she spectacularily runs horizontally along the side of the wing and fuselage the guard decides not to shoot for fear of setting off the fuel in the wing. He turns around and gets lasered by Wraith.
+ | |||
+ | Lake puts down the magazine and makes his way towards the cockpit, to have a chat with the pilot. Shortly after, the props begin spooling up with a whine of engines. Jesse and Mole get on board and strap themselves in, with Jesse reassuring the guests that they will all live to see their hopes and dreams etc etc come true... Unconscious, Wraith gets carried aboard. Webb closes the rear loading hatch, and appears at the back of the passenger aisle, assult rifle ready. One of the executives stands up and demands to know what is going on. Immediately, Katsu tries drawing her sword, to decapitate him. Fortunately theres not enough roof clearance in the cabin, she doesnt manage it, and the exec doesnt notice. The aircraft begins to rise off the ground. Webb introduces himself as MCT security, and assures the passengers the everything is going to be absolutely fine.
+ | |||
+ | The horizon outside tilts. The Federated Boeing dips its nose and peels away, just as compound security begin to arrive at the airfield.
+ | |||
+ | Lake mindcontrols the pilot to take the plane out of the vincinity and set it down at the pre-arranged RV. There the executives and crew are marched out into the snow, and relieved of their bugs and tracking devices by the Mole.
+ | |||
+ | The craft is set on auto pilot to take off and head in the opposite direction. The team and passangers load onto the waiting stealth chopper and it becomes airborne.
+ | |||
+ | Inside, the pilot turns back from the cockpit and asks them where to. The team consult with each other, and decide their getaway was noisy enough that they should head for the border. Unfortunately, none of the four mages on board so much as mentions the possibility of ritual sorcery (then, or at any stage of planning), until the moment the ritual link begins to form with Priest.
+ | |||
+ | Knowing they are being tracked, the team call ahead to St.Andrews airfield and arrange a warded building. Once there, the ritual sorcery link is severed, and the chopper pilot [[Twister]] takes them on to Seattle, arranging a flight plan through Finders decker contact. Quite why MCT didnt fireball them out of the sky using the link despite their characteristic ruthlessness, they wouldnt learn until much later.
+ | |||
+ | |||
+ | |||
+ | Landing in Seattle, the team hide Andrew in Pathfinder's shamanic lodge.
+ | |||
+ | |||
+ | Team are suspicious about Melanie and she picks up on this and does a runner - JC stuns her, brings her back to be mind probed - and it is revealed she's a Mitsuhama plant to protect and spy on Andrew. Team dose her with liase (Jesse doese her with HIS liase!), and dump her in the streets.
+ | |||
+ | [[Path Finder]] wonders how he can get his contact (and the cops) off Jesse's back since Shade destroyed the evidence of the real surgeon.

Prologue
Extended Prologue
Pathfinder and a group from the Knights Of Tarislar come across a gang getting wiped out by Shedim and take the only survior back home to look after her. Katsu wakes up in and Pathfinder explains how all her gang are now dead.
Pathfinder gets asked out to dinner at Fu Man Chows by Misty Knight his bounty hunter contact. She is looking for information on a guy called The Surgeon and has a photo (which is in fact Jesse) which has been taken for Hillary Jacobs mind by a police Vicr.
Events
Mole gets contacted by Mr Hobbs for a meet in the top class 714 Lounge. Mr Hobbs seems to imply that the Mole (Pins, and Shade as well) have worked for him before.
Mole tries to get ahold of Shade, but Shade has only left an answering machine on his phone and never gets back to The Mole.
Mole calls Jesse to the meet for job.
Pathfinder contacts Lake and Webb.
Everyone meets up.
Pathfinder is surprised to see the 'surgeon' (Jesse) arrive at the meet and even more surprised when he turns out to be a member of the team... Could this be the traitor who got Pins killed? Nah, Webb vouches for him and it's all OK. Realising he'll have a problem since he's wanted, The Mole does a make up job on him. As is usual for the mole, some critical information is missed.
Mr Hobbs gives mission briefing: A corp scientist Andrew Preist who works for Mitsuhama wants to defect - as career advancements for a caucasian in a Japanese corp are minimal. His area is advanced cybernetics - neuralware. He normally works in a japanese arcology - but is due for a 1 week holiday in the Crysdale Heights ski resort in Tsimsham - which would be a better place to extract him. He has agreed in principle to defect - but doesn't know when it will happen. He has a fiancee Melanie Delaney who we must take with us.
Last time someone in his department tried to leave they were found dead. The lesson being that you should not try to leave. Hence the team have to babysit him for a few days after the snatch to keep him safe. Mr Hobbs introduces his associate, Anowat who works for Tsimsham Haida National Front freedom fighters (not terrorists - as Mole puts it) who can get us into the country with a gun smuggling run they are doing - guns paid for by Mr Hobbs to cover pay for their assistance. They will get some of us into the country and to a safehouse - while the rest fly into the resort as 'guests' to approach Andrew and scout the inside.
The ski resort is very isolated and highgly secure. Andrew arrives on 18th - team arrives on 15th. Jesse's make up plays up and has to be wiped off with Lake temporarily masking him. Fi is unhappy with salary, not unreasonably thinking that a long term out of town job like this should be worth more than 12k per person. Lake is also unhappy and after getting the team's pay raised then successfully negotiates a bigger cut for himself (comes out of Path Finder's share). Team is helpless before Lake's magically enhanced charisma. Pay raised from 100K to 200K. Lake gets 40k. As Fi leaves Pathfinder contacts JC, who turns around midflight south and returns to bail his friend's ass out of trouble. Again.
Lake, Jesse and Mole go with Mr Hobbs to get fake MCT ID's. They then travel by plane to Kitiwat. Once there they take a Federated Boeing Commuter to Crysdale Heights. All the way they get coprorate 1st class + treatment.
Beta team (JC, Wraith, Pathfinder, Webb, Katsu) go with Anowat who gets the across the border into Salish Shidhe and then into the Athabaskan Council. The team stop off at St Andrew Airfield whihc is a smuggling stop over. Here they meet up with a T-Bird pilot troll, Grease Monkey. Grease Monkey is delivering weapons to the Haida National Front. Team go for a drink with him and regret it later. The group then meet up with Twister an insane chopper pilot who flys them across the border into Tsimshian. He puts the helicopter down in an old strip mine. The astral space around the mine is vile and twisted with a high background count.
Pathfinder uses ritual sourcery to communicate with Lake. Pathfinder beats Wraith at MGS (metal gear solid) 7 on Gamesphere but loses repeatedly whilst playing it's food based knock off, MSG 4. Path Finder's trousers vanish. Wraith playing silly beggars again.
Plan is to wait until Andrew is departing - and snatch him at the 'airport' which is just outside the resort and fractionally less secure.
Alpha team get one look at Melanie Delaney and drool for a few hours (and wonder how a corporate dude gets such a hot fiancee) - Lake gets slapped by Faia. Jesse gets to know the local security people. The Mole goes skiing. Lake gets a massage... Everyone goes out to dinner together but eat some bad shrimp. Mole doesn't notice, Jesse is a bit ill and Lake and Mr Hobbs redecorate their bathrooms and spend two days in the infirmary. Lake gets accosted by Dr Gunther Hubraken who recognises him from a conferance (as Lake), and he quickly palms the guy onto Jesse who's forced to have a drinking competion with him, Jesse looses. The next day is action day and Jesse has a hangover.
Lake makes contact with Andrew Priest about getting ready to leave. Lake plans to hijack the plane as they leave.
As beta team move towards the resort they cross through an area of environmental disaster where a forest has been destroyed. They are intercepted by a toxic free spirit which kills Anowat. Webb shoot ineffectively at the spirit and Wraith lasers into temporary disruption.
Beta team arrive - Webb checks to see if the fence is electrified - and gets away with a mild non-damagind shock. Wraith levitates the team members over the fence one at a time. They gather behind one of the hangars, and Pathfinder masks himself and Webb to look like ground crew. JC is circling above.
Meanwhile the bus carrying Lake, Jesse, Mole and the Targets leaves the terminal and starts moving towards where the plane is parked. Ground crew walk around it making final checks and de-icing the runway. Disguised as engineers, Webb and Finder start walking towards the plane. Webb sees a baggage train moving towards the open loading ramp onder the read of the fuselage, and heads towards it. Finder is walking to the foot of the stairway, just as the bus stops beside it, and the execs begin to embark--
When the transport doors open, the first to step outside are two suits who stop, look around, and take up position next to the four gun-monkeys guarding the plane. Lake steps out, together with priest and his wife, and begin to climb the steps towards the cabin door.
Webb tap-tap-tap's his earpiece. Katsu draws her gigantic Dikatana, and invisible, begins to advance on the security agents.
Carrying his AR in a hold-all down by his side, Webb looks up and nods at JC circling high above, then turns to enter the loading ramp. Finder moves to the foot of the stairs. At that moment JC realises that one of the corporate agents is a mage who is astrally percieving.
JC manabolts the mage. The mage takes it and shouts: EVERYBODY DOWN! retaliating. Then all drekk breaks loose. The spell misses cos JC is divebombing through the air. All six security personel draw assult rifles and SMGs, and flip on their ultrasound.
JC meanwhile, is coming in from the sky like a Stuka dive bomber, firing off spells as he goes. Jesse and the Mole are halfway up the stairs to the aircraft, and take cover behind the rail. Lake ushers the rest of the passangers into the aircraft. He sits down next to the Scientist, and opens an inflight magazine.
JCs spell hits the mage killing him.
Lake puts down the magazine and makes his way towards the cockpit, to have a chat with the pilot.
The horizon outside tilts. The Federated Boeing dips its nose and peels away, just as compound security begin to arrive at the airfield.
Lake mindcontrols the pilot to take the plane out of the vincinity and set it down at the pre-arranged RV. There the executives and crew are marched out into the snow, and relieved of their bugs and tracking devices by the Mole.
The craft is set on auto pilot to take off and head in the opposite direction. The team and passangers load onto the waiting stealth chopper and it becomes airborne.
Inside, the pilot turns back from the cockpit and asks them where to. The team consult with each other, and decide their getaway was noisy enough that they should head for the border. Unfortunately, none of the four mages on board so much as mentions the possibility of ritual sorcery (then, or at any stage of planning), until the moment the ritual link begins to form with Priest.
Knowing they are being tracked, the team call ahead to St.Andrews airfield and arrange a warded building. Once there, the ritual sorcery link is severed, and the chopper pilot Twister takes them on to Seattle, arranging a flight plan through Finders decker contact. Quite why MCT didnt fireball them out of the sky using the link despite their characteristic ruthlessness, they wouldnt learn until much later.
Landing in Seattle, the team hide Andrew in Pathfinder's shamanic lodge.
Team are suspicious about Melanie and she picks up on this and does a runner - JC stuns her, brings her back to be mind probed - and it is revealed she's a Mitsuhama plant to protect and spy on Andrew. Team dose her with liase (Jesse doese her with HIS liase!), and dump her in the streets.
Path Finder wonders how he can get his contact (and the cops) off Jesse's back since Shade destroyed the evidence of the real surgeon. Whilst Jesse is willing to pay Path Finder to help him (He's getting sick of ordering online from the damn supermarkets)
