Prologue
23rd October 2062
Prologue:
Shade tries to locate a Street Doc through Mr Sommers, who can't, but instead puts him in touch with Hound, who has a knack of finding information. Shade and Hound meet up on the matrix, and Hound offers to find info on the whole Shade/Wendy situation for a price. Shade tells him the story, and asks Hound to find Wendy Winters for him.
6pm: Needles calls Pins and says he knows of someone looking for a team for a job, and gives Pins details of a meet with someone on matrix. Mr Johnson turns up for the matrix meet, and wants a team with a decker, and maybe a rigger, and the job meet is at the Gate 57 Nightclub, in 2 hours (8pm).
Pins calls Shade, who'll attend meeting, in background.
Pins calls Mole, asks him to attend and bring his deck.
Pins calls Control and Jack the rigger, neither answer.
Pins and Mole meet up there, and waiter gives Pins a piece of paper, to meet Johnson in back room.
Mission: he wants several boxes from a truck. 81.5x50x47.2cm 42.7kg each contains delicate electronics and should not be opened. wants 10 acquired, sent by Dakota Freight leaving Seattle depot at 6am tomorrow, registration of vehicle, automated vehicle won't stop, until it gets to New Orleans (3 day trip) specs of route given. best place to grab it is on a particular deserted spot.
Pay: 150,000 + anything else from the truck.
Transport the boxes to Baton Rouge, he can provide truck driving ID's if we need them
Hound calls Shade and gives him the CSI report for Jack Newman a sottocapo in the Bigio Family. (Link: CSI Report Jack Newman)
Pins calls Mr Sommers, and asks him if he knows any infiltration specialist mages, and drivers for a job he has on.
Tak (lieutenant of Mitsumoto Gumi) gets a call from a contact, offering him a job.
Tak speaks to Mark, and gets him in on the job randomly.
Tak calls Pins, and Pins tells him to meet the team at Apple And Pears bar. Tak and Mark go there.
Everyone meet up, and Pins offers Tak and Mark 15k each for the job, bonus of 5k available.
Shade tells people he is called Osprey.
Shade does some research and finds the truck is a Robotic Automated Transport or RAT. Mole contacts Mr Sanchez who provides him with plans to the RAT
Team discuss possible plans.
Team Tak a fast car (chase car) with Tak and Mark. Pins, Shade and Mole drive in a Winnebago, ahead of the truck.
Mole leaps across from Winnebago to RAT using magnetic grappling pads just managing despite Pins dreadful driving! Shade passes him cable and hacks the lock. Mole steps in, door closes behind him. Security system: Access the trailer during motion is not advised. Please state you access and security clearance. You have 5 seconds to comply. Please state you access and security clearance. You have 2 seconds to comply. Security system sets off Neuro Stun gas, but he is wearing a chem suit and is unaffected. He begins to walk to the door into the secure section of the trailer. The voice activates again. Security System Unauthorised access detected. Initiating level 2 secuirty. Warning error. Unable to uplink to localised interference.
The Mole the bypasses the lock opens a door to the secure area and moves into another compartment. Mole steps into the corridor and is electrocuted by the floor plates. He manages to jump back but is still twitching and smoking. The door reseals itself. A wind starts up in the compartment and a manifested Air Elemental moves into the room with Mole, and engulfs him knocking him out. Team wonder what has happened to Mole but cant contact him due to jamming.
Plan B
Mark makes illusion of a hole in the road. Vehicle stops, Mark casts invisibility on Shade. Shade then decks past the lock for the back door on the 1st trailer and goes in and looks around, gets worried and shuts the door.
Mark and his elementals try to Take the ward down, and end up Taking damage from the ward.
Pins tells Shade to go hack the lock, no silly invisibility etc, and gets door open. Shade then passes out as the RAT sprays him with Neuro Stun, and falls back after propping door open.
Mark jumps in, then goes invisible and levitates. The door is un-jammed by a maintenance drone and closes behind him. He activates manual door release, and passes Moles unconscious body out.
Pins stim patches Shade. Shade stim patches Mole.
Shade steps into truck wearing Mole's ruthenium polymers, Mark casts a levitate spell on him so he wont touch the floor a trigger the pressure sensors.
Shade then bypasses another door inside (the same one Mole did before being knocked out).
A wheeled drone enters from the 1st trailer, but sees nothing.
Shade decks into the system, and manages to create a security account which enables him to shut down the security systems on the RAT and turns everything off, and opens all doors.
Truck looted, then team does a runner. Team peek into the boxes, and see this is the new Wanatabee Matrix Services X3000AMH super servers.
Shade gets a look at the picture of the Mr Johnson, recognises it as Mr Takayama, the Mr Johnson that hired the group for Chipped Dreams and never paid them and who apparently worked for Renraku Computer Systems and so we decide we can't trust him, and decide to give the servers back to Wanatabee Matrix Services
Cars pull over, and we brief Tak and Mark on what's happening.
Team decide to hand servers over to Wanatabee and Shade calls Satoshi Nakamura explains to him what has happened. Satoshi Nakamura sends his head of security David Matsumi over to help us, via a Lear Platinum Jet.
Brief security guy about the Mr Johnson, and the previous run he hired us on to kill Mr Akatomoto (Chipped Dreams).
Ring Mr Johnson, who arranges to meet The Team at a warehouse.
Mark astrally scouts, and at the warehouse finds 2 spider-like drones invis on physical plane, and 2 calm heavily cybered chaps.
We brief the Wanatabee security guy, and he tells us the calm people things seem similar to the Banded - people brainwashed and influenced by the Renraku AI.
Babylon 5 moment. David Matsumi asks Mr Johnson to stand very still, and then deals with his associates by gunning them down with automatic APDU rifle fire.
Shade points gun at Mr Johnson, but then the Mr Johnson screams 'To the new order' and explodes. Blood splatters over the team.
Wanatabee compensate team 200,000 nuyen - 40K each.
