buddist monk contact tells me to be a tour guide at a place to take people to another place arrive first and then Pual(Lifeline) arrives first, then mark(dwarf-Tom), then Richard(Halo), and then Al(Ned). Then NPC(Blade) arrives, and sits.
Arrive at destinated - underground car park.
Car barrier opens automatically, as does a lift. We get lift up, apartment door then opens. We go in.
Old man. He's brought us here for a simple job. He says everyone is your brother until the rent comes in. He says we can call him Job.
Back in '52 he(was a decker) and some guys did a job. He whines A LOT about how things were better in the old days. They did a run, someone was trying to blackmail CEO (John Delora) of power-grid company. Seemed a simple job.
They looked at the info - even though they shouldn't have. Employers would have assumed they read it anyway, so they were fracked. No-one who had seen it was going to be left alive. So they had a plan. Smartbot with 5-way encryption key put on the net, always on the move, jumping node to node every few nano seconds. They call it The vault. Can only be decrypted with all 5 keys brought together.
Did the deal, if Johnson screws with them, the data is revealed. It would be revealed if he died. Now he is dying of cancer, and has tried to contact these former employers and former team. Eve is back in a few days. Caine arrived today. he wants us to meet up with Caine (in his 50s). He then wants us to visit Abel. We need to bust Joseph(mage) out of an asylum (Hope and Serenity Institution) that he's been in 4 years.
Payment. Certified cred, 60,000 total with 12,500 upfront. If we do good, he'll set us up with an awesome contact.
we give the other 4 encryption keys to him, then he wants to hand the right files over to the former employers.
First port of call, pick up Caine. Second, pick up Abel. Third, break out Joseph. Fourth, return back to Jobe.
We head down, and 2 dudes from the company are outside (they always watching Job) and they are by our car annd want a word. They make it clear we aren't to try and read the file. We agree.
We drive to Caine's. as we arrive he falls out of his window, smashing into a car, dead. Evidence in his apartment that prostitute ming lee is a physad and killed him
Lifeline, Blade, and Halo go to the brothel while rest of team goes to Abel's.
At brothel they say Ming Li is out on a job. but can't get ahold of her, so try to track her via an implant tracking device. It shows her as still being in her house. Team members say they will go and look, and brothel owner sends Bob with. When they get there she is in bathtub, neck snapped, cold. Blood isn't completely dry. She wasn't killed here. No other recent wounds - she probably wasn't the one who killed Caine. An outfit missing from the wardrobe. Neighbour saw her leave.
Other half of team go to Abel's - a nice bungalow apartment in Everett. Abel is drooling old and useless, his daughter is going to get us the key.
Molotovs at the front, distraction for the back. Three people come in, HuWen punches first who blocks, is punched back and parries, punched by second and parries. Ned walks in and shoots third bad guy. HuWen punches through the heads of the two. We leave.
We all meet up, and decide to go to Joseph's.
We hijack an ordely van heading to the psych place, and go in 'undercover'.
Lifeline and halo dress up as orderlies annd gain entry. They find Joseph drugged up with truth serum, and find out where his chip is. We suspect others have already gained this info and so we quickly get him out of here.
We head to Joseph's 'sanctum' and can't find anything there. Joseph becomes fractionally more sane, and claims he was under protection. He opens up a hidden stairwell down into the earth. Blade and Lifeline stay behind, rest go down with Joseph.
Lifeline summons a nervous force 3 spirit of man. It vanishes away. Downstairs Joseph tries to summon up the guardian, it is gone, the safe has been tampered with, the key is gone. He says it was 'her', recognising the astral signature.
Upstairs Blade panics, screams about something coming, then dies horribly. Joseph forms a crackling wall of energy to hide us all behind. He tells us about an ally spirit he summoned and badly treated. He tells us to leave while he holds off his ally spirit, tells us the 'her' that took the chip was Eve.
We leave, after some exposition.
We phone Job, and Job says we should head to his, as Eve is no doubt going there. Lifeline, Halo, and Tom go up to Job's apartment. Ned and HuWen stay elsewhere with the chip.
Upstairs, the man gives the money, tells people to leave, but he gives Lifeline matrix co-ordinates where the vault will appear. If it isn't collected, it'll be relleased to the media. He whines about how teams should be nurtured, etc etc, whaa whaa whaa, and keep an open commlink.
On way down in lift, hear over open commlink that Eve is with Job. he asks her for the chips, there's a boom, fireball, arrrg. Over open commlink, a co-ordinate is 'beeped', washington university archive library.
When we arrive, halo breaks us in the fire escape so she can bring in guns. When we are in, there's a shimmering in AR - it's the vault, in the guise of Job. He asks foor the final key, Ned hands it over, the files are transferred to Lifelline. Military files, stuff about lone eagle crisis, etc how he sold his own father out to the corps. Info abbout others that were complicit in the massacres at the internment camps.
A door opens, and Bill and Ben come in. Job is still hovering, looking at Lifeline, the AR hasn't gone, claims to be no longer limited by his programming. Asks if the information matters. Bill and Ben want to know where the file is, they say Eve is dead.
Woman walks in, it's the woman-boss of Bill and Ben. She says her dad never told her the info, but only that it should never be revealed. She asks for the file. Lifeline says we don't have it. Turns out her dad and Job were friends. She won't let us leave with the file. AR-Job-AI is still hovering. It will give out 5 keys, and then go out into the matrix to find and protect secrets. It sends everyone the file, but HuWen doesn't have a commlink to receive a file.
Woman (Sharon Delora) is upset, says if any of us reveal the info, she'll hunt us down.
File then dissapears, and all 6 (team and Sharon) with part of encryption keys that will be needed to unencrypt it in the future.
Sharon leaves.
