Carrington was a rich former corporate Wage Mage, possessing a skill wire system and a potent spells.
However on a run against a powerful New Orleans Gun runner, Carrington and the rest on the on site party were captured and killed. This included Myst (captured) and Speedy (escaped).
A successful rescue effort was organised for Myst but no one bothered to rescue Carrington from the prison. He is not pleased.
