Categories are useful for organising pages. You can see the list of [[Special:Categories|Categories used on the wiki]] and add your pages to them.

== Adding pages to a category ==

You can add simply and easily add your page to a category by adding text to the bottom of your page. For example to add your page as an [[NPC]] you do the following:

Most [[Help:Templates|infoboxes]] are tied to categories and adding the infobox will automatically add the appropriate category also.

== Sorting your page in categories ==

By default it will be sorted and grouped by the page name. With the name of people you may well to sort by their surname first. For example for ''Name of Person'' you could order it by ''Person Name of'' and you would do that with:

<nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT:Person Name of}}</nowiki>

It is best to remove punctuation for the sort key.
